I suffer from social anxiety and depression and don't know how to get past this to help with my weight. any tips and tricks? :(

Hi I just found your email. I too suffer with clinical depression/anxiety. I am on medication that really helps 50 mg daily of Cymbalta, at bedtime 100 mg Trazadone it helps me sleep. One tip I read years ago, when going into social setting, there are others there thinking like you do, so you are not alone, it helped me to relax and now it does not bother me.

I have a great therapist who helps me a lot and gives me support and encouragement.

As far a your weight goes, have you accessed your diet, there maybe some foods you need to eliminate, especially white bread, white pots, cookies anything containing sugar, Plan your meals out and stick to them. When grocery shopping don't go when you are hungry, and do not bring home the items that will stick to your ribs. Can you incorporate some exercise in your diet, walking is good, so is swimming and bike riding. Join a gym, there are always people there who can guide you. I went to the gym for 7 years and loved it. I also got into Hatha Yoga, it is calming, not stressful and builds muscle, muscle burns of fat. Do not drink sodas, try sparkling water, I love it.

I hope this is of help, take your time, it won't happen over night, check yourself once a week,, you will see the weight come off slowly, that will be worth your efforts.
