Honestly don't remember how I chose this site just looking for support emotional / mental went to a few and kind of felt right so I stayed. What about you? Is your hip issues getting sorted?
Pain and depression suck, but put them together it's horrible at times as you know! how did you find out about this site?
Yes, I have had that problem for years and have had organizers come into my apartment. About 20 years ago I could keep a nice, clean apartment and I do not know why I hoard. I am embarrassed by this and spoke with my therapist but she does not provide help. I need to move in a month and am extremely stressed about having to do this with all my clutter. I truly wish you well. It is a difficult way to live with depression. karlou
I haven't been hoarding as such, but I have been buying things that we don't need. It's a case of seeing something, thinking aww that's nice, and then skipping the question of whether we need it, want it, have room for it, completely goes out of the window, and the item arrives on the doorstep a couple of days later. It is like comfort spending.
I consider myself a hoarder. I can relate to the cycles!
I’m looking around my living room now like👀 I get overwhelmed at the thought and then I just want to sleep... eventually something “clicks” then I’m cleaning and throwing away stuff.
So frustrating, I can think much better when things are organized.
There’s also the battle with the depression and pushing through to get the energy to clean.
I’m sorry you’re dealing with this, I can imagine it is overwhelming. Being in physical doesn’t help considering your mobility is affected.
