They upped my Prozac.

So. Because of everything going on in the world and because my anxiety is triggered over having a lack of control over health issues. My doctor decided to up my Prozac to 40mg and added trazodone throughout the day as needed and at bed time. I take 25mg at bed and 12.5mg usually once a day because fortunately that’s all I need. So. My question is, should space out my Prozac dose as far from my Trazodone doses as much as possible to avoid an adverse reaction. I’m finishing out my 20mg script before I begin 40mg. My doctor says that I am going to be fine, and that he understands my fears, however I would like to hear some personal experiences or advice that have taken an ssri and trazodone for anxiety. For what it’s worth, the trazodone has already started helping I think the better sleep and sedation during the day is really working wonders for my overall quality of life.

I’ve taken SSRIs with trazodone for many years. However, I am prescribed a higher dose and only at night. I started with 50 and over the years have stuck to a 50-125 dosage. I don’t stay at the higher doses long or that often. I see a psychiatrist for my medication management as well as a psychologist for therapy. (Anxiety& depression). Good luck 🍀. Stick with it! 😁

I understand your fear, so many of us on here have had these doubts. I was on prozac for 10 years and loved it, unfortunately I built up a tolerance and moved on to Zoloft, sorry to say same thing happened, so I have been on the pill roulette. Now I am finally settled on Cymbalta 50 mg in am for depression & anxiety. I am on trazadone 100 mg at bed time for sleep, I am weaning off Mirtazpine, hope to be done with that in June (it is for sleep). I am thinking I may be able to cut the trazadone to 50 mg, we just have to wait and see. You need your sleep, so please do not be afraid of the combination you are on. Listen to your body, observe what is going on, talk to your Dr. get help when you need it, you can always talk to us here, we have a lot of knowledge and experience.......I send you courage, peace, love n hugs....Sprinkle 1....
