Hello, I currently am a university student suffering with anxiety and then current restrictionss of Covid19 lockdown. I had a nasty wave of anxiety last night and was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to ease it? Sleeping is difficult and is a trigger for my anxiety. I feel as though I have to be the support network for a lot of people and when others struggle I take it all to heart. Does anyone feel the same as me? Feeling a bit lonely but know I just have to ride the wave of anxiety. Thank you in advance

Anxiety
I struggle with similar anxiety problems. I find myself either sleeping all day or passing true 30-40 hours without sleep.
I also have noticed that when I stay awake this long I snack once or twice. In that moment, when I eat frozen grapes. New energy is consumed and I struggle to fall asleep. I am not certain but I assume that snacking on less sugary items would increase the likability of sleep. That includes excluding sodas, caffeine, teas, chocolate, high sugar fruits if you are struggling to fall a sleep.
Another tool I use on occasion. I take 5-10mg of melatonin depending on my anxiety to support my sleep. Be aware if you try not mix with other medications that may not mix well. Read more online to find interactions between anything you may take or alcohol.
Good luck, sweetie.

This probably sounds stupid but try to accept your situation. Don‘t fight against it. Just accept your feelings and the situation you are in right now. It won’t last forever. And just really concentrate yourself. Just imagine drawing a wave or imagine hiking up a hill step by step until you reach the top. Or imagine riding a bike and driving over small hills. If that doesn‘t work for you (this may sound stupid too but it works for me) Ask a good friend or family member to send you a voicemail and tell you how their day was and what they were doing. You can close your eyes while listening to it and if the voicemail is short, just repeat it over and over. Try to find peace. I know what you are feeling. I‘m sorry for what you‘re feeling. It eventually gets better. Take it easy
