weird throat feeling; anxiety?

Hi. I have been experiencing a weird throat sensation as if a heat or burning wave comes from the bottom to my throat to the top of my throat. I have also experienced a weird tingly sensation in my throat and mouth (even my tongue- I feel like it is tingling). While I know feeling like you have a lump in your throat is a common physical anxiety symptom, I was wondering if anyone else has been dealing with these symptoms?

Sending all my love and good vibes to everyone who is currently dealing with anxiety.

Might be indigestion. I get it really bad and I’ve noticed it gets worse when I’m stressed

Not sure where you’re from but I’m from Australia and I take gaviscon to help my symptoms it’s like a tablet thing which you suck on each time you feel indigestion coming on (it tastes like mint) and it’s pretty good at relieving my symptoms when it gets really bad you should see if you can find something similar where you are. And if it gets really bad ask your GP for some full time meds for it

Milk and plain biscuits also help relieve symptoms too

I’ve had all kinds of throat stuff. Choking sensations, larynx spasms, clicking when swallowing. Some of this may have been benzo withdrawal, some anxiety and stress.

I didn’t realize that stress and anxiety can give you weird throat sensations. These past couple of days, I’ve realized that anxiety can present itself in so many different physical symptoms

It could be anxiety but I really think this sounds like indigestion or acid reflux - totally harmless and goodness easily combatted.

I think you are right, it only happened that once night, but I would not be surprised if it happened to me again. This gave me a bit of calmness, so thank you!

Have you asked your doctor about acid reflux? Or your thyroid? Sometimes there can be something physical going on too please don't chalk everything up to anxiety.
