I’ve been trying to limit how much daily news I look at to help manage my anxiety. But with the constant news feeds it’s been hard. Especially, I think some headlines are so anxiety provoking. What strategies have helped to manage information overload?

How much news do you watch?
I’m going to sound like I have my head in the sand... I don’t watch the news. I don’t use Facebook or Twitter.
I read the news too much in the beginning of the pandemic (a couple times a day). Now I occasionally (once a day at most) check Apple news or local headlines.
Occasionally my kids or my partner will tell be something they’ve heard, and I’ll check it.
Thanks for the reply. Did you notice any change in your mood or anything? Do you find yourself missing the positive posts?
I did find myself less anxious and less preoccupied with the negativity.
I’ll sometimes search up inspirational quotes or Pooh and Piglet quotes when I need a pick me up. I screenshot them for later, or write them in my “journal”.
I say “journal” because I don’t use it as often as I should, though I have it with me all the time.
Thanks for sharing.
@pt81 I agree, the news is to inform us of what is going on, not suppose to provoke fear, worry and anxiety. Also, knowledge is power so we can stay prepared not scared. Please check out the info before believing.
