Had my honors 6th grader research world war 2 and we all had a discussion and later spent time on math

2nd grader used prodigy for math

We read poems and discussion

Followed cooking instructions

Exercise was a run around the neighborhood and science/ nature

Art with chalk and Easter craft

I feel pretty good about our first day. I want to make it fun for them.

Yup (((((((Hugs))))))))

Can I ask you about your 6 grader, first if its a boy, if he has changed a bit. My grandson who is 12 now, who I raised. We love each other, as we have always said way past infinity. Now he won’t even hardly say hello, yet talk to me. During this time of shut down families need each other. I face time with my granddaughter he won’t even say hello. It hurts me so much, I just want to know how he’s doing, what’s he doing, and to tell him I miss him so much, and love him. I only had two girls myself never had that problem. He is ,and was the best grandson anyone could have. My daughter tells me it puberty?

My son has not gone through that. My heart goes out to you and I know you love him so much it hurts. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️... now that I think about it, my 24 year old went through trouble at that middle school age where he was more to himself.

My granddaughter just face time me, she went by my grandson, I said hello how are you doing, what are you doing, he won’t even say hello , I said I miss you haven’t seen you in 6 weeks, he won’t talk at all. Then my daughter starting yelling at me, he doesn’t have to talk to you. When do parents teach their children any respect these days. I’m crying my eyes out right now, please help me.I raised him all is life, did more things for him then his own parents his father is a slug, doesn’t he remember all these things. I played baseball with him, hockey with him. Took care him when really sick, took him on vacations, went o every hickey, baseball game, concerts at school. Can’t name all the ways I showed him How much I love him.My daughter was raised seeing her mother bee in very respectful caring, and loving. All she want is mine to pay her debts,

in reply to

Pay her debts that her husband get them in trouble for. I only do it so my grandchildren don’t lose their home

When my brother was in 6th grade he acted the same exact way. 12 and 13 is the prime age for those type of emotions. Don't worry too much, it's normal.

Great first day!! My daughter (5th grade) likes the fact that it's only a half-day of online schooling😄

One of the reasons I’m homeschooling is they didn’t want to do video chat or online learning ... I know I could learn but didn’t know how to do it... and I thought teaching myself would be fun as I have many links to try out but I admit I’m already overwhelmed

My apologies, I thought you were referring to first day of online school because of the virus🥴but that's a great experience that I wish I had during my childhood. And yes either way can be overwhelming.....daughter was late to online this morning smh lol

We did decide to go online today but we were not impressed.

Thanks Hope feeling a bit overwhelmed today. How are you?

in reply toStarrlight

Oh no 😔 remember as always to take it one step at a time x take some time out for yourself even if it’s five mins

Yeah it’s a really bad time for me at the moment so I’m just here to distract myself for a few mins stop my brain whizzing!
