Totally over reacting

Does anyone out there have decent ways to handle when you know you are overreacting? Looking for some coping mechanisms. My anxiety has been very high, mainly due to work, and I am now over thinking everything.. which, in turn, makes me react to very small things like they are the biggest problems. It is causing some problems in my marriage. My husband is very understanding and supportive but someone can only take so much. After I calm down I go into a depression because, once again, I freaked out over nothing and was emotionally abusive to the ones I love... feel like it is a horrible cycle...

I would get professional help. Just the act of getting help is the first step to getting better.

I completely understand this. It is hard to not overreact when you are feeling miserable yourself. Just gain a good sense of self-awareness and think about what you say before you say it. Don't act on impulse.
