I have an occasional problem with anxiety. It is not connected with any situation, it just comes out of the blue. Two years ago I was prescribed a sedative for my unstable blood pressure. After six months of use I decided to quit that poison. Little did I know what it would entail. Although I tapered for about 6 weeks, the last tiny dose marked the beginning of all sorts of problems. Physical trouble first (trembling muscles, dizziness, heart palpitations, stomach problems, insomnia...)everything that goes in withdrawal crisis. All that produced something new for me, something I never experienced in my life before, ANXIETY. It was hard to bear, and hardly a day passed without it. Six months later I went to my doctor and he did not help much. He said it was just nerves and I was way passed withdrawal. I am a healthy woman (all the results I did in the beginning of my blood pressure crisis were good). So I had to do a lot of research on my own. Now, 18 months since my last dose of sedative I am so much better. The biggest help were books and videos made by people who suffered the same thing. I meditate regularly, eat reasonably healthy, and most importantly BREATH ! The 4/7/8 technique is very important. Now sleepless nights are rare, occasional anxiety is much easier to bear (but not yet gone). And I must recommend two books I reread often, ASHTON MANUAL by late Dr. Heather Ashton, and THE UNTETHERED SOUL by Michel Singer.
Love you all
