This started happening to me recently. I haven't done anything physical to cause this pain, but it still happens randomly. I've taken ibuprofen and iced my joints some, but I'm not sure how to make it stop once and for all.

Yup!

Yes. Stress/anxiety can cause all sorts of health issues. I’ve experienced this myself. Also, sleep deprivation exacerbates the pain. I’d bring it to the attention of your primary physician and psychiatrist and therapist (if you have them). You know your body better than anybody else. Anxiety may be the root of the problem, but the pain is very real. I’ve been treated as a hypochondriac, only to discover that there is an actual physical issue. Push for testing. Keep a log of your symptoms and what makes them better and worse. Present it to your doctor(s). Try some relaxation techniques (ie. deep breathing, stretches, meditation) and pursue with your physician. Self care, in all forms, is so important. I’m working on this myself. Nobody should have to live with chronic pain!

I have had something like that, and I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia by two different doctors, they just prescribed me medication that didn't help, so I went to a 3rd doctor because I mean this pain was bad all over, muscles, joints, you name it. But anyways the 3rd doctor who ran the most test told me he didn't think I had fibromyalgia at all. He thought it was my sleep causing the problems. It has since went away, and to this day I still don't know what it was. I just hope it doesn't return.
