Success coming off Lamictal

Hey, I was jw if anyone on here had success coming off lamictal? I really want to try something new. It's been a good medication for me, but A.) I've lost so much hair over the last 3 months, POSSIBLY linked to it, and it brings about too many worries as I have health anxiety.

I'm so scared to quit. I fear even if my doctor helps I could possible die from stopping this medication. I feel stuck on it.

Advice? I'm going to consult my doctor, so dont worry.

oh dear dbeck I would be making sure it is a definite link first but if it was you should come off them gradual and move on to another one maybe.

I would love to try another one & still continue to get help. I am trying to track down what the main cause of the baldness is though.

Sometimes when we get older especially if your hair is very fine we can loose our hair.

Contact your GP and explain what is happening, there are hair problems that cause hair loss.

Your Doctor should refer you to get checked.

I am loosing mine, it has been going on for some time, they have put it down to to age and possible Alapechia. I know people both Men and Women who have or are now loosing their Thatch I am sixty nine and I have what in all ways has become a Monk Haircut

Good luck, when you see your Doctor it can be very distressing

Lamictal is a very good medicine. I've been taking it for the past 10 years. I don't know what I would do without it. You're hair loss is more than likely caused by something else. You should have some blood work done and consult with your doctor before going off Lamictal. If anything any hair loss could be due to a thyroid problem. People with thyroid conditions often have hair loss and other physical problems. Who knows what the cause is. But don't blame it on Lamictal.

I had some time worrying about parasites due to body rashes. And thinning hair. I looked up demodex the human skin parasite. Seems to be an actual thing. But maybe lots of water and a short detox can help.

Look for hair re growth you might look up rice water on you tube. You could look up castor oil packs on you tube and sterilizing your environment with borax on you tube. It’s not for everyone maybe you can call my a hippy but for a while I had very little hair. Although I’m not in your exact same category I refuse to take any such thing as an anti depressant because there is no cure for depression only treatments I prefer things that show improvement in my life. Like I can socialize much better with zanex then without zanex. It works although I have withdrawals during the zanex fda recall or doctor change or insurance issues. I have the worst withdrawals.

So much love for your bravery I have so many wigs look at my profile I think you can get a wig for $20 on Facebook then continue to research your hair loss triggers what caused it how to help it remember diet or even castor oil are most helpful. Plus drinking the gallon of water and using rice water rinse. It’s super common don’t worry about everyone has been there. Or they would sell wigs.

Not what you're looking for?
