Should I stop taking meds ?

Hi all

I've posted quite a lot on here recently. I'm not depressed and my bipolar has settled somewhat however, I have been struggling with anxiety, thoughts of self harm and anger (which is a new thing). I'm wondering whether my meds are the culprit of all of this.

I've been on lamotrigine for about 9 months on and off and the dose has been chopped and changed. I know it's not always a sensible thing to do but am trying to listen to my body.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, a big hug to everyone who always send me beautiful and warm messages and comments.

Don't quit taking your meds. You might want to tell your doctor, but do not stop taking your meds. It could make things worse.

Look at what your doc says. Meds can be tricky.. like painkillers can make your damaged lef not hurt at all.

body also has a habit to get a little addicted, and incorporate consostently taken elements into overall structure. i.e. it adapts to being fed meds.

..

I imagine if those are meds you take regularly, you can't just quit cold turkey, as it would be a new strong impact on brain.

youd probably rather need tappering - i.e. reducing the daily dose by small amounts more and more until it reaches zero.

Overall you should be very happy that you have good response to meds. All you need isnprobably to get your life in order, get some consistency and slowly drop the chemical stimulants (meds) and enjoy your freedom (*cries in bald eagle*)

Hi! I just commented on the other post and came directly to your page to see how you were. Ive never been on that medication, so Im not sure. If you started it or upped the dose right before your anxiety got worse than maybe the cause? The best way to find out would be to ask the doctor who prescribed it.

In the mean time,

One day at a time..🕊💕

Wishing you peace and happy thoughts

Talk to a therapist....and get a different doctors medical advice. no one here is qualified to give medical advice on something as serious as medications. Please talk to a professional, as many as it takes till you get the help you need.

Hi jelly baby I'm not going to critize you but be careful with changing your dose of your meds it maybe that your doctor may have to look at a change of meds if the one your taking is not helping! Take care and all the best david

JellyBaby, who chopped and changed your medication? Meds should only be

changed or reduced by the prescribing physician. We care about you and want

you to be safe. Please call your doctor. :) xx

Thank you all ! You're such a big support for me and I hope I can help also.

I have decided to give my anger/aggression a little more time to settle however, if it does not I will speak to the professionals. I'm in a clearer mindset and I wont do anything before speaking to them. Thank you !
