This morning I awoke to snow flurries. Instead of trying to immediately rush around the house I am sitting by the window watching the flurries come down. It is calming. Hope everyone has a few minutes of peace and beauty before you face the day. HUGS and BLESSINGS!

Sitting answering peoples contributions I am sitting watching the birds outside eating there seed and Peanuts. Nice to see the birds bathing and hiding in the hedges and bushes. We have a good variety of birds here, we are in the countryside and all wildlife seems to appear here.
We also have a Stoat family that appear every now and then that play on the side patio so we can watch their play, they are now coming less and less before the real frosts come about
Watching the Wildlife seem to put me in a positive move, sometimes Hares sneak in the garden as does other interlopers.
The reason I am mentioning this, even when you live in a city or a block of flats you can at least watch the birds, if you set out feeders and Fat balls they will be knocking around from morning to evening, you will make new friends as they knock back their Peanuts. You will be surprised what is knocking about in towns and cities, before I moved home we lived on the outskirts of a Market town and we say many different types of birds just looking outside the windows towards set up feeders.
Birds also need water to bathe and drink, we set down a planter tray full of water to bathe it is not to deep and it ideal for watching birds bathe in the winter. In a bird table we set up water for them to drink, as long as you break any ice after a freezing night the birds will be there as you have your breakfasts. We leave seeds on garden plants and rose hips on the roses, the climbing rose is ideal for Blackbirds and Thrushes.
Above is just a suggestion for something to do to keep us occupied and lift everyone with negative moods Something positive

I have cardinals, blue jays and chickadees around and I love to feed them. The chickadees come right up on my deck at a safe distance and let me know if I need to refill the bird feeder. In the summer I put planters on the deck and see every kind of butterfly in the area. Have found one particular annual that attracts hummingbirds. I have a wooded area behind the house and often see deer, quail, turkeys, and rabbits. Of course there is also a fair share of squirrels and chipmunks. So much beauty. I am truly blessed.
Yes we are in the UK andhave different types of birds and animals etc.
We Have Butterfly Bushes throughout the summer and they get full of butterflies and moths, We sit in the Living room and watch them all day, a wonderful site.
We have foxes, Hedge hoggs Stoat and Dear we get a great deal of damage in the lawns, Moles and trees, the deer eat and strip the bark of the trees so we have to protect everything.
It has been a rotten day here the weather is horrible, although that has not stopped the birds scoffing the bird food. I would love to see some of the birds you have in the States

I will try to post some photos when the weather is a bit better. My favorite is the chickadees. They are a small song bird with beautiful black white and gray markings.
