So I was diagnosed with PMDD(pre menstrual dysforic disorder) recently and basically it means that for two weeks before my period I have crazy hormone changes and my anxiety and depression shoot up. Along with that I have heightened exhaustion, immense hunger, and of course crazy mood swings. None of my friends really get what I go through and my parents almost don’t really accept what I go through and pretend like I’m a normal 20 year old who can react to things in a calm and collected way. I recently had to switch colleges because I couldn’t handle the one I was in and became catatonic. I go through bats of insomnia and many times I don’t feel like myself. I guess I’m writing this here because I’m looking for people who understand me because I don’t really have that in my life.

I can sympathize I have experienced this most of my life but was it was just part of my cycle and not much I could do about it. Thankfully I have an understanding husband and my mum experienced this too. I found evening primrose oil periodically helped as well as regular exercise. I also use a hormone tracker app so I knew where I was in my cycle, it help me stop thinking I was going mad ! Take care and know you are not alone x
