Anxiety, PTSD
You will be ok and meds could help you with the intensity of your symptoms so it’s a good idea. I am anxious to go bed myself I totally understand how you feel. I feel like I was on the edge all day.
Try to acknowledged your feelings and accept them, then let them be but try to not let them control you, it is hard but it is truly necessary to regain control over your thoughts and feelings. A little step at the time.
Hang on, it will pass!
I know, this thread is a few weeks older yet I'm taking the time to respond to it because I know how it feels to live with PTSD! My mom is suffering from PTSD for the past 5 years. By the grace of God, she has improved a lot, unfortunately, she seems not to cure it completely! In the beginning, she has been to a general psychiatrist for the treatment but now consulting a post-traumatic stress disorder specialist, cognitivebehaviourtherapyto... !
In the first stages of her treatment, she used to feel like the same at night and I have to pamper her like a toddler, telling positive stories and sharing others' experiences to push her to sleep! So I would like to share a few tips which I tried with my mom to make her calm during nights!
Accept the fact that it is perfectly ok to have sleeping problems while you have PTSD!
Always think about your current life, it is ok You have a bad flashback. Try to sense the safety of your current life towards the end of every day!
Take a break from your regular life, preferably one day from every week! Try not to stay back at your home during weekends, plan trips instead!
It is not necessary to schedule your sleep! Go to bed only when you are sleepy otherwise engage in any other favourite activities!
Try to do moderate physical activities/exercises during the day time! Even if it is a few minutes' walks in your yard, it is perfect!
Maintain sleep hygiene! Clear the obstacles from your room during the night! Keep away your phone and other gadgets or make it a dark room.
I know I'm a bit late yet I hope it helps you or anyone crossing this thread.
I hope you get on track soon.
Thank you.
