Depression and Extreme Tiredness

Can depression cause extreme tiredness? I am always tired and freezing (freezing is because of diabetes) but I don't know why I am always tired.

In a word, yes. I am constantly tired and need to sleep every afternoon. I think it is all our negative thoughts running around our head that are so exhausting.

I am always tired and cold! Have little energy or interest in things such as keeping house!

Hi there I will start off what I've have happen! I have had very tired periods and I'm also a type 2 diabetic as is my father he is tired most of the time depending on how his blood count is! I would also say that the depression on its own shouldn't cause extreme tiredness but insomnia which some people with depression suffer from could be the problem! I, too, am very tired all the time. I know I don't get enough sleep, I'm anemic and have type 2 diabetes. If any one comes up with a rational explanation, I'd love to hear it.
