With me its almost like i start noticing everything and getting overwhelmed by any movements, talking, sounds, lights, smells. Sometimes my hearing gets muffled. I forget were im at and dont recognize my family. Lots of head and ear pressure, ringing, weird sound waves. Ive never passed out though. Muscle stiffness as well.

So similar. Except I recognize my little one. I just start feeling like oh no. And then the tingling sensations over my head and face and then I get up and pace and will feels rushes or waves going over me and then feel faint and I get down to the ground....this is the point I use to have to call 911 because I'd feel like I was about to go out. With my rescue med Ativan 0.25mg it will stop me from having to call 911 if taken as soon as I start feeling all that weirdness. Oh and I'll start shaking really bad but aware of everything, I really think the shaking of my hands and legs are because I get so scared.

Mike there are thousands of variations of seizures. They’re named according to symptoms. So in neuromedical terminology you’re having an ‘aura’ of photophobia and photophobia, tinnitus, and emotional sensations. You don’t pass out but you don’t recognize family so that’s a question of secondary generalization. And, you have myoclonus. You don’t say if you jerk. These are all symptoms of where the extra electrical activity is coming from but as of yet it’s not covering your whole brain (I don’t think) only because you don’t pass out but it’s possible depending on your meds and tolerance.

There are basics to seizures but every seizure does not fit in a category.

Do you know it’s coming?

Are there other emotional sensations?

How long does the episode last?

How long before you’re yourself again?

I hope you find your answers but only a neurologist with an EEG and/or fMRI can help tell you exacts.

Take care of yourself.

I do get jerks, more like brain zaps but my whole body shivers. This happens everyday, ativan has helped alot though but i dont wanna become dependant. So idk wat to do. I got an eeg and mri in a week.

I thought we had talked about that. I was hoping you’d had it already. Take the Ativan until they get you on anticonvulsants. It’s better for your brain. It will only be a short time.

You think if i tell the doc all these things they will be ok with me taking ativan more and give me something else? The ssris did nothing for me. I will also get ear pain, wgich is weird. I will hear things as well not voices though.

Yeah you get the whole world of anticonvulsants to deal with. Not ssri’s. That’s why you make sure all those things you typed are told to the doctor. It’s not weird to get ear pain. Hearing things is definitely not unusual. Everything you said points to the area of extra electrical activity. Something like Depakote or Topamax is the starter. I really want to know you’re okay please.

Mike777, did you ever get your eeg or functional MRI? Did they capture and episode while you had the eeg on any chance? Was it a video eeg?

I can feel mine when its coming on like an aura and it lasts awhile though. It sucks. Just wanting to see if you were diagnosed with Epilepsy, non epileptic seizures or anxiety and panic attacks (though non epileptic seizures fall under the umbrella with panic attacks apparantly). What meds did they put you on for your diagnosis.....

Thanks and hope you are feeling better.

Did you have an any episodes while wearing the eegs monitor? I know in order to capture them you have to have an episode while having the eeg on. Sometimes they may se abnormal with out an episode, but my neuro says we have to catch it real time.
