Anxious thoughts about the night before

Does anyone else go out with friends or whatever and then the second you arrive home start ruminating and analyzing every conversation and what people think? I’ve always had social anxiety but recently, for whatever reason, when I return home from a night out especially if I was drinking alcohol, I tend to over-analyze everything I said or ruminate over how “I sounded so dumb saying this or that” and “why did I say this” and “I’m so stupid for chiming in on that” like it’s really silly but I lose hours of sleep obsessing about how I am a idiot and say stupid things. I don’t even know when this started? Does this happen to anyone else?

Yes of course, I used to do that endlessly . It can be useful if you use it as a learning tool. Decide what you will never say again or what is successful . Notice what works for other people. Most of us focus on ourselves instead of others. Switch that behavior if you can. It's an ongoing process, you'll get better at it. Pam
