CBD and St John worts

Currently bought some CBD oil to help my anxiety of constantly feeling sick and worried about being sick. Was taking St. John worts before hand which I saw some improvements but had trouble swallowing as they were big.

I’ve stopped taking St. John worts now and using CBD however I’ve felt a bit sick and anxiety is high. Am I able to take CBD and St. John worts together as they’re both natural? Has anyone else done this??

I would be very wary as they are both serotogenic

Yes I was worried about the same thing. The manager in Holland in Barrett said both was ok to take together but wanted to see other people’s experiences.

I bought some CBD oil from holland and barret and it had a terrible effect on me I had no appetite for a week and I was severely depressed I had a very unusual reaction to it but it does warn on NHS website that it can cause deppression and suicidal thoughts I felt like throwing myself off a cliff it was awful

You could put a drop on your wrist and see how it effects you rather than ingesting it , I doubt it will effect you like it did me but no harm in being cautious

So sorry to hear that. That’s not nice.

I have taken the CBD for two days now - first time I tried it I felt a little odd, almost like a giant in a small room but I think that was me over reacting! I’m just thinking of using it with St. John worts as it isn’t giving me the best of effects as St. John worts did

I just had a look at your other posts I don't know if you still suffer from IBS but Holland&Barrett do feverfew capsules that are really great for IBS I took them for serotonin syndrome as feverfew is a serotonin receptor antagonist

Thank you for your help. I’m at the stage of trying to figure out if the anxiety sickness has come from my IBS or whether the anxiety is giving me a upset tummy. It’s a hard fight with myself to figure what the root cause of it all is. My main focus at the moment is trying to get rid of feeling sick constantly everyday - but trying to find my own way of coping without hypnotherapy, as that is costing me too much money.

The feverfew is amazing and safe I was getting IBS and it stopped it I highly recommend it

Feeling like a giant in a room sounds like it is not having a good effect I wouldn't take any more if I was you

I only had it on the first time taking it, plus an older friend of mine said 5% is a very low dose so probably shouldn’t affect me too much? I’m going to try and take St. John worts again as I feel that was working for me (I just have to get through the hissy fits of swallowing tablets)

Crush them up

I was thinking this - but do you think this will affect how the body absorbs this?

Does it says they are slow release ?

I doubt there would be any harm done but you could ask in Holland&Barrett

I shall read the box! I know it says swallow whole but that could just be for taste reasons!

Try taking them with milk. My sister couldn't swallow big tablets until she did this. She got this from a friend who was on loads of meds. x

I wouldn't take advice from the shop assistant.

Have you asked your Doctor's or Consultant 's advice?

My therapist recommended me to St. John worts but said not enough evidence has been proven for CBD. Therefore I’m skeptical to take together

I just found this online. x

I'm taking both. My naturopath and acupuncturist know I'm taking both and approve. I take one St. John's Wort capsule in the morning. At night I take one CBD capsule and one St. John's Wort capsule. It's been working well for me. The St. John's Wort capsules I take aren't big, but they have an aftertaste. It only lasts a short time.
