So I have an issue with alot of things in my life. No matter how hard I try I cannot feel the chemical reaction in my brain called happiness. The daily struggle is becoming overwhelming. I have family and friend support (for the most part) and a maximum dosage of antidepressants. I just wish I could have s few more "happy" moments before I pass away.

Hi "ilikemycats"
You are certainly in the right place in reaching out for help and support.
Life seems to have handed most of us a lot of issues to contend with. We
may be on medication, received therapy and yet the final answer will always
be, we must help ourselves. The meds just artificially produce the chemicals
needed for us to get by on. We need to produce the chemicals naturally as
well to help our meds along. The feeling of happiness you look for can come
to you in many ways. A feeling of self esteem and confidence, looking at life
with more positivity, feeling love can all bring on the chemical you are looking for.
Having family and friends who support you is a blessing. Many of us have no one
who cares and yet they go on. You are in your prime my friend and I don't see you
never experiencing happiness. Each day may bring us a new challenge, with that
comes life experience. As we grow emotionally, we learn more about ourselves
and what we want and need in life to be happy. Stay Positive, Stay Confident that
your day is coming. I'm glad you are here with us. xx
On feeling happiness, it's a fact that when we try we can try too hard and miss happiness because of the stress of trying blinds us to happiness. I suggest this, for a few days or a week, think of a color you like. For me, it is the perfect hue of sky blue. Then when you see that color ( yes, put yourself in front of that color purposely to see it), stay there for a few moments and search your feelings. When you begin to feel something "lighter" than when you began you are on the right track. Your mind may wander to fun experiences with loved ones or imaginary children or lovers. This, my friend, is happiness. Practice this often, or consider my words crap. I take no offense to any judgment because I am bulletproof. Be easy with yourself and you will find better mental health.
