Hi everyone, I’m trying to reach out to others that are experiencing ptsd and it’s affecting your life. I have social anxiety and have a very difficult time with any medical stuff. I also have flashbacks and very intense vivid memories. I have been having this since a serious surgical procedure and experiencing the ICU. Any others have or this type of experience or any kind PTSD? Thanks.

I have ptsd from going to the mental hospital for two months. It was like jail. They locked you into every room. There were fights every day. It was coed so there were many learing men. They tackled me to force shots. They had people in straight jackets. The staff made fun of us and called us names. I went blind for three days on meds they forced. I was sexually assaulted. They could keep you for up to a year and you never knew when you could go. I missed my daughters first lost tooth and first day of school. It took me a year to stop having flashbacks.

I also had a fiery car wreck where I had to be cut out of the car. I still can't drive on the highway and it's been four years. I tried counciling for it but nothing helped. It changed who I am and my family says I no longer smile and isolate myself.

I'm sorry for what you have gone through. It so hard.

Thanks for the reply. Your experiences sound intense. May I ask if you had hallucinations while in the my hospital?

Before I heard a voice once and yes thought I was Jesus, tried to hurt my mil etc. Cops had to come get me. Never found out why that happened. I have been fine since, eight years. I am not on meds.
