Shingles from Stress

I always thought shingles were for the elderly. I'm not even 40 years old and I broke out in shingles on my arm! The doctor says it is from stress and scolded me. My very overbearing mother told me that I'm doing too much and to sit my behind down somewhere. I have a fear of being useless (not sure if there is a scientific term for that). To make matters worse....I passed the shingles to my 4 year old! Yikes!

I had shingles at 45. It was from extrem stress due to an argumentative coworker. She has since quit and I am so much better now. So very possible to have it young. I hope you get well soon.

My 21 year old son had shingles recently. I thought it was for the elderly, also. He suffers from depression.
