Anyone else?

So ya know it’s getting late and u plan to head off to bed, let’s say it 11:00pm, and u get in bed and try for about 30 minutes to fall asleep. When that doesn’t work u resort to music, dancing around ur room trying to wear urself out. And when that doesn’t work u turn on a movie, then the movie ends and ur at square one. Then you look at the time on your phone To find that it’s 2 I’m the morning. And you sit there hating urself for not being able to sleep and u end up sleeping eventually, but not until u have cried so much ur eyes refuse to stay open. No one else just me....ok.

Most nights I’m sitting up in bed watching Netflix till all hours. I have real trouble sleeping. My therapist told me not to watch tv in bed, hmm well maybe I shouldn’t but it comfy and warm. Some nights I don’t sleep at all I try for hours but no luck. So your not alone. Take care.

Oh gosh. I’ve had nights like that. It’s so frustrating.... I like to read or listen to audiobooks before bed. It helps get me out of my own head and thinking about something else. I also listen to different podcasts on “guided meditation” and have recently been using tracks from the “breethe” ap. Works wonders for me. Anything to get me out of it own head.

I tried the “guide to relaxation” its very helpful but I got ADD so I’m kinda fidgety but if I put my mind to it I’m sure I could fall asleep to one tbh

Literally same. I used to have this problem every sunday before school. I'd drink chamomile tea, turning off my phone and laptop hours before sleeping, exercise BLAH BLAH. it would never work, i'd 'fall asleep' anytime after 5am. Recently my anxiety has been CRAZY, my mind is just so busy and i get bad heart palpitations which make it hard to sleep. I try to watch videos to fall asleep BUT NAH. wide awake.

Yo I hate when I have nightmares cause normally when I wake up I’m panicking and I can’t breathe

in reply toLovely_Lizzy_

Also tried chamomile tea with no luck.

Tea has never been a help to me

Palpitations were a nightmare last night. I don’t actually have real nightmares.

The stimulation from all those activities keeps you awake even more.

Get Behavior health help. Sleep clinics are now operating with take home supplies instead of sleeping in a strange building.

I've had 3 testings in the past 10 yrs. Meds make me sick. Nothing wrong found except my oxygen level is a little low when I sleep.

Go for professional help. Stay brave to take care of yourself. It's so much easier than all the sleeplessness suffering.

Yep. For me it is hours of audio books or YouTube until the sleep fairy finally knocks me out. It is better now. But I still remember.
