Hi recognise that panic attacks are horrible but they aren't going to kill you. One of the problems with them is that we start to hyperventilate which causes carbon dioxide to build up in our blood making us dizzy and the heart beat faster. It feeds upon itself.

I recommend you learn some breathing exercises, there are plenty online for anxiety. This will give you some control back and will help to minimise the effects. x

Panic attacks are the very worst! I find that the biggest trick is that they box you into your own panicked mind and is very very hard to get you out however, I have found these things that help me get out:

* recognize you are having a panic attack. Acknowledge it.

* Have a list of phrases written down that you can read like: this is my body reacting to fear, is not fatal is just uncomfortable, it will not last forever it will pass, I am going to be ok is just for a bit.

* Try to have an audio or video list near you that you can put whenever an attack hits. I have a playlist on YouTube of people saying phrases and with nice music that helps me a lot.

* You don't mention this part but if you haven't sought out help do so. Therapist, psychiatrist, try it, it really works!
