Im not a professional but my thought would be to speak to someone
who is knowledgable about depression. Its not a bad thing to admit your
depressed. Your human. I could be wrong but I think I saw something recently
that said 25% of us are on some sort of ssi thats 1 in 8 people
IMO You have to help yourself before it will get better
Do you have somebody to talk to (other than your bf) about your depression and your feelings? In my own experience, it’s better to let all your feelings out with a therapist or a trusted friend, than it is to dump too much heavy stuff on your partner.
