Any experience with dyspraxia?

G'day Folks,

I saw the Occupational Health nurse again this week and at one point, she asked me if I've ever been diagnosed with dyspraxia. I didn't know much about it so I went and had a look at the symptoms in adults. To a degree I can see some similarities however at 37 years old, if it's not been picked up until it must be pretty mild (if that is even a thing) It also looks like many of the things I do to manage my d&a disorder also work towards managing dyspraxia. Has anyone got any experience with the subject? Would it be worth speaking to my doc next time I see him or is it more effort than worth?

My cousin is looking into getting help for her young child who might have dyspraxia. It's apparently difficult to diagnose. My advice to you is to become your own advocate. Do your own research and dont allow anyone to tell u what you have unless it makes sense to you-all too often we give doctors the say so and sometimes they are wrong. And yes, speak to your doctor about it. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply Sunni, I have another appointment with my doc in a few months so I'll have a chat with him and see what he thinks. It's not something I'm worried about. Like I said, even if I have it at all, it's not that severe. Otherwise it would have been picked up many years earlier. From what I've gathered (from the incredibly accurate diagnosis tool also known as 'the internet '), I have been more or less treating it already as the techniques used are similar to how I manage myself at the moment. To my mind this would probably make a diagnosis that much harder because it's improved from what it Once was.
