Does anyone else experience extreme, acute chest pain almost constantly? It has been weeks of this and it is only getting worse. I figured it is just my anxiety but valuim and such meds dont help, only thing that has ever helped is the pain medicine tramadol. Im weaning off that and have had a full week of busiprone (busipar?). Anyone else wake up with and have to deal with almost constant, horrific chest pain?

Hi Delmaria111, weaning off any medication is likely to give you some kickback.
It is always best to work with your prescribing doctor regarding the horrific chest
pain. However, in my own experience when weaning off benzos, every kind of
symptom broke through as I cut the dose lower each time. One of them was
Costochondritis, a painful inflammation of the chest wall muscles/nerves. That besides
my anxiety increasing as my medication was decreasing. But I knew I was going in the
right direction and stayed focused on my goal.
Our brain gets dependent on being rescued by medication that as we wean, it needs time
to manufacture the chemical needed to reduce our pain level naturally. Learning other methods to
reduce pain can help immensely. Relaxation Meditation can reduce adrenaline that's feeding into your fear and pain as well as enhance the Endorphin levels (that feel good feeling) Try working with your new medication (Buspar) It will eventually start working
for you. I wish you well in getting off Tramadol. Continue to work with your doctor
who will watch over your concerns. You've Got This, believe in that. Time will prove
it so. xx
