Effexor to pristiq switch

Has anyone switched from effexor to pristiq? I've been on such a long journey to feel relief from constant anxiety and so far nothing works. I was recently on 175mg effexor and my Dr switched me to 50mg pristiq. She had me just completely switch, no weaning. I've taken it for about 4 days now. I suddenly feel a lot of withdrawal symptoms. Very dizzy and lightheaded, nausea, out of my head feeling, tingling sensations inside my gut and body... Just so awful. Has anyone gone through this and how long will I be suffering like this? I have a full time job in customer service that feels impossible to do these days. I'm constantly worrying about not being able to work.

I would talk to your doctor and explain this. Also, remember your doctor is just trying to help you. You have a say in how the changes take place and should ask questions before just blindly making a big change like this.

I did do a ton of research on the new meds and preferred to be on them. When I was on effexor, it was horrible. I did explain everything I was feeling to her and that's why I was able to switch. I asked her about the transition and she said it should be fine.. after feeling sick I called her and asked again and she said it's normal and I should be ok. I'm trying to trust her because she's always very knowledgeable about the medications. She usually explains to me how they work and etc; which no doctor had ever done with me before.

That is different from my experience because my doctor just recently had me do the switch but keeping me on 37mgs of the Effexor for 2 weeks while on the new medication at 50 mgs to tapper off. Maybe your doctor should have kept you on and let you tapper off gradually as well. 🤔
