How long does depression usually last?

I've been told depression last for only a few months, however I have shown signs of it for a year and a half. I thought I was getting better but I still wasn't at my best, but recently I feel as if it has gotten much worse.

If you don't alleviate the cause it will be ongoing.

It all depends on the cause.

Most people will have depression once in their life

Other sufferers may suffer isolated periods of Depression throughout their lives

If someone has, say, has a Chronic Health Concern depression may be around for their whole life. Everything is related to cause and Affect

So sorry for the way that you have been feeling. Depression can be managed, but the important thing is to get some assistance since your symptoms are not resolving. Is there a life stressor or a physiological issue that is troubling you? I would recommend seeing a therapist and/or your physician.

Also, perhaps some of these resources would be helpful for you?
