Anyone for some light snowboarding?

Here's a pic I took after I took my profile pic. That snow mound was a foot over my head. The snow on the side of the driveway was past my knee, and I'm 6 foot 3 inches tall. That should give you some idea of how deep the snow is.

Anyone in a warmer climate wanna trade? lol

Your pal,

Brian :)

We got less than half of that a few days ago, Brian. You have my sympathy. But I thought that you New Englanders liked that sort of thing!

I'm a transplant. I'm from Virginia originally. If I never saw snow again, it'd be too soon lol

Doesn't Virginia get snow, too? It's not really that far south (on a map, anyway).

In Virginia where I lived, if we got 5 inches of snow for the ENTIRE winter, that was a big deal lol. I lived in Metropolitan Washington Area, about 45 minutes (as the crow flies) south of DC. We hardly got snow lol :) One Christmas, it was 75 degrees and I was outside in my shorts lol

I didn't realize that. I live in the Chicago area, where the average winter snowfall is 38 inches, although we haven't seen that much in recent years.

It's been drying up here the last couple of winters, too. But over the weekend, it came back. With a vengeance lol

It's exactly 40 years since Chicago had its record winter snowfall of 89 inches. Talk about a nightmare! There was literally no place to put the snow after a while. The snow blowers could only throw the snow a certain height, and the piles were already so high that the snow just fell back to the ground. People were shoveling their roofs for fear that they would collapse! It was just nuts.

It's snowing here in the UK but not that bad!!! There's just a film over the sidewalk ( pavement we call it here) :)

Yes - over here, the pavement is the street. It's funny how even though we speak the same language, sometimes we still need an interpreter!

I guess the UK has weather more like San Francisco. The moderate ocean breezes protect you from the extremes.

Yes that sounds about right. Every time we get even the smallest bit of snow the whole country grinds to a halt; we are never prepared and our vehicles do not have snow chains etc. I sit and watch at my window as cars try to go up the hill ( in the road where I live)......... and then go tumbling down again...... :) as no-one can ever drive up the hill!!! I just park on a low level and go from there. x

Chicago Here :)

We may complain, but we like snow or we wouldn't be in the Windy City. x

We had a light light sprinkle of snow this morning and then it melted! That photo does look amazing though!!!

Oh no, too much snow. We do get snow here in PA but nothing like you do. I love visiting New England only in the summer.

I wouldn't want to visit here even in summer. Soon as I get some cash to move, I'm outta here! lol

Well, look at the bright side. At least the Patriots are back in the Super Bowl!

Blasphemy! Down with that bunch of scrubs! And poo-poo on the Rams, too! Besides, the NFL is lame. Give me NHL hockey or MLB baseball or Premier League football (aka soccer) any day. *scowls* lol

I was a big-time hockey fan as a kid, cheering on my Blackhawks. Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita, those guys. That's back when Montreal pretty much owned the league. It's a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

I'll let you know tomorrow how much fun it is when I come in

from shoveling and my back hurts. Then you will feel sorry for me. :)

Nope. Shoveling is a young person's game. Get a young one to do it. lol. That's what they're there for lol.😀. They need something to get them off their iPhones lol. 😀
