I doubt very much you are the only one.im the opposite I tend to stuff my face when im really down comfort eating.drink some health shakes or something that's easier to keep down.but if not and this is regular then you should talk to your doctor about it.

it’s very common to lose your appetite when you’re depressed. I sometimes skip a meal myself because I don’t have the motivation to cook.

I lose my appetite and survive on a bag of microwave popcorn. This last bout I had with depression/anxiety I lost 30 lbs. So I also say talk to your Dr. you need an antidepressant from the sounds of it. I was on one but built up a tolerance to it, so we had to try different ones until we found one that worked, now I am eating and cooking for myself again. I wish you well, and send you strength and energy. Love n Hugs.....Sprinkle 1.......

My weight tends to go up and down like an jojo ,I tend to go between 260 - 270 pounds ,it depends on how little I eat when I'm depressed I get.

Definitely not alone on this. When I’m really down it’s a struggle to eat anything at all. It’s a terrible feeling and I’m so sorry you’re dealing with that. Praying when you come out of it, you’ll have your appetite back and can get on more of a meal schedule. That has personally helped me a lot, planning out meals and taking the work out of it a bit!

When I was going through divorce I didn’t eat or sleep. I had to make myself eat, I lost a lot of weight and wasn’t even trying.

Nope. Not at all. I haven't had any appetite for two months now and I basically eat when I can handle eating a meal. I would love to enjoy food again. I hope it will be soon.

You definitely are not alone. I was so sick at one point where I literally could not eat for months... I had absolutely no appetite but I made myself eat apples with peanut butter for some protein and I was also able to stomach frozen mango's which I ended up eating often. It was horrible to feel this way but as someone else stated loss of appetite is very common during depressive episodes. Please try to remember though that it is still important to try to get the necessary nutrients during this time as well and even more so. Have you thought about doing shakes? Those also helped me to maintain a healthy weight and helped my overall well being when I just could not eat regular meals at the time.

I am the same way. Last month I lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks from having no appetite and even thinking about food making me feel sick. I got some fruit smoothies that are single serving so I could sip those on the go. I also got some Ensure shakes, they are supposed to have all the nutrients you need in them and I got the high calorie ones. I also found that I could eat things I could just pop in my mouth so I got a bunch of almonds that I could nibble on and get some protein from them.

I have since started a new antidepressant which has returned my appetite.
