just wanted to take the time and thank this community/group for their messages, their own personal stories and for just being so understanding on what others are going through in life. it helps when others reach out with comforting words. i get on here and it makes me feel better. so again, i just wanted to say THANK YOU.

mimiooch, that's so nice of you to post a "thank you" to the group.

How are you doing today? At the beginning of anxiety, it's sometimes

difficult to not use medication for a short time just to break that cycle

of fear that you're in. Medication along with therapy can get down to

the root of what started your fears.

There is no overnight remedy since the anxiety took time to reach the

point where it's at today. The book I had mentioned by Dr Claire Weekes

still takes time to read it over several times and then time to apply it everyday.

You must really believe in what you are reading. It's not easy to retrain your

brain but it can and will happen eventually.

Our subconscious mind is to blame for thoughts being played over and over

during the day as well as while sleeping. That part of our brain does not sleep

but keeps a watchful eye over us. The thing is that it can't distinguish a real

threat or a fluke. And so it sends out a warning to our bodies anytime something

doesn't seem right. When this is done, a flood of adrenaline rushes out and

presents physical symptoms the minute we get fearful.

Dr Weekes book on Acceptance is what will eventually stop the negative thought

in progressing. Once you get to that point of thinking, the adrenaline will subside,

your symptoms will dissipate and you will no longer fear these signs. Practice makes

perfect. Using deep breathing can stop the adrenaline as well. It can bring you back

to a place of calm but it must be practiced daily until you can do this automatically

at the first sign of distress.

I'm hoping while you are off work, you will find the "me time" to work on this issue.

I support you. Hope the weekend is a good one for you. I'll be around if you

need to talk. :) xx

thank you for your support. it really does mean a lot. i definitely believe our subconscious mind plays a huge role in this. dwelling on things make it much harder. i'm realizing that.

i'm looking forward to reading the book by Dr. Weekes....it sounds extremely helpful
