Ik I'm probably getting annoying with this, but I'm continuously foggy, can't think, or remember. It scares me. Is this this normal for anxiety or just being extremely stressed?

Hi Lindsey,

It’s okay. Have you told someone about this fogginess? Have you been keeping hydrated and eating well? I have anorexia, and when I fast for a long time, I start to get foggy. I can see that it must be scary for you, not being able to remember or think. I’m pretty much always kinda foggy, that’s just how I am (forgot my own birthday once!) but if it’s unusual for you, perhaps telling someone about it would benefit you, like a doctor, parent, relative, GP etc.

Stress is a really common trigger for a lot of things (including brain fog) so that would make sense. However, you may be able to see a doctor to sort it out and perhaps prescribe medication.

I’m the same. Maybe a medication would help us

I think you are ok. When my anxiety gets really bad I go on these stretches where I am dizzy and out of it. It totally sucks. I’ve been going that way now and it’s so hard. Then you start to worry about it. I’m sorry.

Brain fog is definitely a symptom of an underlying issue with one of your glands, perhaps your adrenal gland or thyroid. I would strongly suggest you visit with a functional doctor specializing in endocrinology and ask to have some blood work done along with a saliva test to see what your glands and hormones are doing. They will come up with a plan to uncover where the root problem is. You will be utterly amazed at what you will find out about yourself.

Your brain is involved with stress and anxiety and it's possible there is a block somewhere that can be corrected. High levels of stress hormones (caused from worry, stress, fear, anger, frustration, and anxiety), because they are stimulants, cause an increase in the electrical activity in the brain.

Getting checked is always good. I went to an endocrinologist when this first started happening to me and everything was fine. I still get weird and foggy because of stress. Point being it is not always a gland.

A conventional doctor will not test you as thoroughly as a functional doctor will because they do not have the capability to do so. I will never go to a regular doctor for these kinds of issues - ever!

Yes that’s why I went to an endocrinologist, cardiologist, neurologist an ent doctor. I see my gp once a month. All I am saying is what if she has done all of this and hearing that exacerbated the problem. I am definitely not disagreeing with you as my issues wouldn’t let me off the hook with seeing every specialist possible.

See - that's the thing - you DON'T want to see a specialist! They are completely inept at solving your problem because they don't know how.

That is bizarre

I can't afford to pay for a endocrinologist

Ask your doctor if she could do a blood test to check your hormones and glands

I will try, my next appointment isn't till January

I fear it would be too expensive for me to see a endocrinologist

That is the most shameless SEO I have ever seen. lol

"Foggy head like head foggy, foggy foggy head symptoms foggy? Sometimes, foggy fog is like fog and is foggy...in your head."

(That's not an actual cut and paste.)

I've finally gotten to the actual information part, reading now.

That is an excellent article for those trying to connect their symptoms to the actual problem - glad you liked it.

My endocrinologist was super good. Although it could of been that I kept researching things and having her check things. She ran me through a bunch of different blood tests. That might not be the norm lol
