Alcohol and Anxiety

I've been taking anti-anixety meds for years and they have always been helpful. Recently, however, after drinking alcohol socially and never excessively, I've had these awful anxiety attacks.

Is anybody reading/posting have anxiety attacks after drinking alcohol?

Hi LevyHipt, not to scare you but to keep you safe...alcohol should NEVER be

taken while on benzos. They both are suppressants and can have an adverse

reaction causing you to have difficulty breathing. Please be careful.

I have anxiety attacks after drinking because of hangover, I wasn’t taking any medication for my anxiety because the alcohol was my medication. So maybe talk to your doctor or see can u stop drinking or ask them to wean off the medication I know am taking medication now and I don’t ever want to mess that up no more because am an alcoholic

Oh dude.. alco brings out anxiety in me too. Next day is bleh (and I am not talking hangovr. I sm from Eadtern Euro we know how to drink a ton and not die the nrxt day).

Alco definitely is not great. Same with tabacci that are the worst imo.

So you are ok its just that we cant drink anything in sight anymore after age 30

I haven’t even dare try alcohol since I started taking sertraline, it doesn’t even bother me anymore. I did find a nice none alcoholic Heineken but even that made me feel shitty the next day, whether that was psychological or not I have no idea.
