Guillain Barre Syndrome - My papa passed away a few years ago and I did not know he suffered from GBS before passing away. I know this is not hereditary. But since Monday I’ve been having these pins and needles shot from my foot to my legs and then to my hands and face. I’m freaking out. I don’t see my neurologist for a while. And I will be doing an MRI on my head next week. But idk what to do. I’m feeling anxious and it’s not helping cause now everytime I walk, I can’t breathe and my legs are just weak. Feels like I ran a marathon or something. As anyone felt this way? I don’t know if I should go to the ER. I just went two weeks ago. Sigh. This is so frustrating.

I'm sorry to hear about your Papa. The symptoms you're having could be due to anxiety alone. The more anxious you get, the more weak you may feel in your extremities from hyperventilating (breathing too fast). I have felt similar things before when anxious, but not exactly. I've also seen other people have the symptoms you're describing. The best thing to always do is call in and leave a message with a nurse about your symptoms so she can report them to your Neurologist. If it's something concerning, they will call you back and tell you to go to the ER. There is always a Neurologist or Nurse on call at the doc's office to answer phone calls after hours and on weekends for these kinds of concerns--so call. If you feel really worried about it and just want to get checked out immediately, then go to the ER. No worries.
