When Anxiety Strikes Without a Trigger

I’ve done really well the past 5 days with minimal anxiety. Suddenly though, I woke up and my stomach was in knots and anxiety kicked into high gear. I hate how just about every time I get a sensation or physical symptom, my automatic response is to panic. It’s incredibly exhausting and just not how I want to live my life. Anyone else get triggered out of the blue? How do you cope?

I know what you are talking about; it is a very reoccurring scenario in my life. It worked well with me to keep my affirmations written in a notebook next to my bed. Recently I added my drawing book; it calms me down.

I am embarrassed to say this, but I always keep a protein bar and a bottle of water, in case I could not get out of bed for hours.

I hope this is useful.

Love this. Thank you. I always carry protein bars in my purse and my water bottle is my constant companion. Great ideas!

I almost forgot to mention that I always try to refer to my attacks and negative thoughts as gremlins. Using funny words minimises my attacks. I try my best every morning to have a conversation with them. They are always SILLy.
