Morning dread, anyone else? The minute I open my eyes, here comes the tight chest and heavy breathing. I hate this.

Morning anxiety
Did meditation. It helped a bit.
Just remember to take deep breaths and remember that you aren't alone in this
Thank you 🌼
Mornings are hard. Until I get into something to really distract me, everything seems like it could be a trigger. Mine are mostly tied to my ex and things that remind me of her, but today even putting on my glasses made me anxious. Driving the kids to school I thought I was going to have a panic attack. I feel for you
I totally get it. I I hope your day gets better too. I read once that this may happen because we come from a peaceful place (usually) when sleeping to abruptly come back to reality problems...
Morning anxiety is VERY common. I found an article that explains it the way my therapist did a few months back when my anxiety was off the charts....
“The “stress hormone” cortisol is released by the adrenal glands in response to fear or stress. Researchers have studied the cortisol awakening response (CAR) and have found that cortisol is highest in the first hour of waking for people with an increased level of stress in their lives. This helps explain why you may experience an increase in anxiety in the morning.”
Fortunately I have fully recovered from that horrid, intense, excruciating painful, and life altering anxiety and panic. It took several months of hard work on my part, therapy, and getting back on (and committing to stay on) my meds. I read some of my older posts and I’m in a much better place...I dare say I’m back to normal.
There is hope and help and the battle with morning anxiety can be won.
