Liquid encouragement

Feel like I have been drinking too much lately. Basically to leave the house and not have an attack. Also to destress. Not setting a good example for my husband. Not making the best choices either.

I'm sorry you are struggling. I hope you can tell someone about your drinking and ask for help. Sometimes instead of alcohol i will reach for the junk food which isn't great either, but its another option in the moment. Long term try asking for help to find other ways of coping.

Not sure who to tell about drinking, unless I did AA and tried quitting. But I know that is just not possible right now. I'm waiting for new meds to kick in, probably need higher dosages. I don't want to take a benzo every time I leave the house because they are addicting, so I'll have a couple drinks instead to keep me calm enough to do what I have to and fend off a potential panic attack. I know alcohol is addicting too, but I guess I'd rather be addicted to something I can by otc rather than need an rx for...as weird as that sounds. But yes I do need to find other ways to cope with the anxiety rather than sedation.

I don’t drink much but I do find myself turning to alcohol whenever I feel like things are just too tough and I just want to let loose. Most of the time it only makes matters worse. I hate to admit it but it’s the truth. 😔 I hope you’re able to find another way to manage your attacks. Let me know what you come up with. 😊 Have a great day!🌻☀️

Sorry you are struggling. Posting here and being honest are great first steps to address your fears and anxiety. Talking openly about feelings and situations to trusted friends and family often help get back on track. Yet, usually I need to talk to my husband.

Have you considered marriage counseling? Christian counseling has helped us address our issues, as well as work things out in wise, Godly, and practical ways. For example, we now use "Time out" when our emotions are heated. BUT, then we make a time to talk about the problem. During the time-out, we think about the other person's side (That's HARD!) When we talk again, we often can solve the issue. It has helped our anxiety!! Hope this helps.
