Perhaps, they didn’t know?

Hello.

So, last yesterday, — my father picked me up before I got to school. Apparently, in the morning, he and my mother had gotten a message.

I got a call from him asking where I was; afterwards him saying I should wait for him. So, I did.

As soon as I got into the car; he asked me about my suicidal thoughts. He said that, I definitely shouldn’t come to school that day. So I didn’t.

We talked about everything— my suicidal thoughts, me having anxiety, (though he didn’t/doesn’t really believe I have anxiety), though— he said he’d prefer if I told perhaps next time, when I had suicidal thoughts.

I don’t know if I should, though.

My mother also said the same thing; that I could tell her.

I just, don’t know.

What should I do?

Edit: plus, they both agree on finding a time where I can go see a psychiatrist/psychologist, — so perhaps, there is hope for me to get better and maybe not think about those thoughts as much. :DDD 🎉🎉

If they say you can tell them when you’re feeling suicidal, then tell them. I’m glad you’re going to look into seeing a Psychiatrist/therapist. Good idea! Enjoy your weekend!

I’ll try my best to get myself to tell them. And thank you, I hope you enjoy your weekend as well. <3

Thank you, for your support! ♡

I like this news! How did it feel to have your dad come get you, in a sense, protecting you from school?

Thank you! — and, it felt, at first— slightly overwhelming, at first I was worried, then I felt overwhelmed, then it felt nice. Just, relaxing. I think.

Thank you, for your support! ♡

your very very lucky to have such loving parents...and I know it's hard to talk to them about something so deeply stressing, and a lot of young people don't want to worry their parents or fear they won't be believed or taken seriously, but it sounds like even though they may not fully understand anxiety and suicidal thoughts, they love you enough to get you help....and that would be the best thing for you is to get professional help so you can be properly diagnosed and given a course of treatment to help you get better. I am so glad your sharing here about this....

Having someone available to talk to about your feelings is so important. I recently got depressed and it took me a bit to tell my family but I’m so glad I did because now I can feel free to tell them how I feel and they can help me. I hope you feel that you can always feel free to tell your parents about your feelings. It will make you feel better. They want to help you.

Thank you. I’m glad to hear you feel free to talk about your feelings to your parents. I don’t feel completely comfortable or sure about telling them. I don’t know why, — I just don’t.

Thank you, for your support! ♡

So lovely that you have your parents support x I definitely think you should open up to them about your feelings as they seem so protective and caring x but it is up to you x if you are having those dark thoughts then maybe consider professional help too xx ♥️ you’re not alone x

It's great that your parents want to take practical steps to get you professional help and they're not burying their heads in the sand. They're there for you so you'll be just fine with the right help. I wish my parents had been more like yours, I wouldn't have half the problems I have now if they had been there for me and I'm probably not the only one one here who is thinking the same. Good luck on your road to recovery x

Thank you. And— I’m sorry to hear your parents were different. Hopefully you’ll find something or someone to help you recover. <3
