Eating disorders

So from m previous posts you can tell I’ve been under stress. I’ve had a problem with purging for a while. I stopped and didn’t for many months, even though I’d occasionally get the urge. It’s not that I have.l self esteem issues or anything, it’s just food tastes like a bile I need to get out.

From my encounter Saturday I made myself throw up again, and since then I’ve done it a couple more times, or just avoided eating. Do you guys have an coping mechanisms?

I never purged, but I did have a really bad relationship with food. Have you gone to a doctor? Or a counselor? I remember I was always in denial/didn’t want to, but when I did it helped me so much. My coping was praying, making sure someone else knew my struggles and trying to slowly build a better relationship with food I had cut out. I hope this helps!

I’ve been going to therapy for a while and we do talk about it, it’s just so hard you know?

I do!! It was a really long process for me to actually get back to a good relationship with food. I would say, for me, probably took about 5-6 years. Take heart!!

Hi mhunnell19, you might want to check out another HealthUnlocked support site for Anorexia/Bulimia besides this site for anxiety. I also go on the other site every so often in order to get some support for my daughter who is anorexic. You will find those who are struggling with ED as well as some who have overcome the disorder. I wish you well. xx
