Back pain

Does anyone in this group suffer from degenerative disc disease.

I do and yes have been doing battle with this demon for 20+ years and the anxiety/depression it has caused. I don't know what a day without pain is like. But, I adapt, improvise and overcome as best I can. I take pain meds among other things and still try and exercise as much as I can as I have scheduled and cancelled the full L5/S1 fusion spine surgery several times from fear. Walking a thin line when you combine Oxy and SIRI's. I know well this and I like having my brain clear and being able to articulate rather then be in the fog of drugs. Good luck.

Thanks very much for your reply. I too have pain every day. I never know from day to day how I am going to feel. Plus my anxiety and depression started long before the pain. I go to a pain doctor for 10 years now. Plus a psychiatrist and therapist and physical therapy. I am still dealing with pain. People don’t just know what I am dealing with. I try to have a positive attitude but some days are just too much. Bless you

I completely understand what you’re going thru..I never know from day to day how back will be.. and no one seems to understand Chronic pain 😢Bless you too..❤️I’m 57 and my anxiety and depression try very hard to take over..but I persevere every single day🙏🏻🤗

i have a back pain and leg pain and now even foot pain. i am trying to do some stretch exercises every morning, but i need to see a doctor with leg and foot pain. it is good for me to walk (for my mental state), but i can not do that as i used to. it started about 2 months ago and still did not see a doctor about it. have no idea if it is connected and what it is actually. I did not answer your question, but just want to support you and wish you feel better.

Yes! Have been since 2012.. been hard to keep a job because of it😢Now, after 29 years of marriage my husband wants a divorce..I thought he truly loved me, but between that my anxiety and depression and my back I’ve gotten worse. I’m trying to exercise, walk and meditate.. but just don’t know what I’m going to do about a job.

i am sorry, it is tough for you now. but please take care of yourself. I was just let go from a project 2 days ago, and my anxiety got bad right away. Trying to look for a job and also take care of my back and leg pain. Hugs!

I too am not in a good place with "issues" and pain makes the depression/anxiety worse it seems. The one comfort I can offer roomies is what is use myself when I am down, it's this. "Just because you think it, does not make it true" We tend to think the worse that mostly does not happen, and, "This too shall pass" - Now would be good! - And in time it does. Nothing lasts forever. Except my cats not helping with the housework and cooking. I don't have all the answers but that won't stop me from moving forward. Being 60-ish makes things harder now it seems. Adapt, improvise and overcome I say.

I was diagnosed last year with DDD via chest x-ray and it came as a surprise to me. I was referred to a back surgeon but with no major symptoms I can think of we cancelled. Internist gave me exercises to do. I'm 54 and don't understand this so interested to read replies.
