I ended up in the ER. Heart palpitations that revealed irregularities in an EKG, but when I saw the MD in duty, he said it was nothing and that I need to pay closer attention to real symptoms... I was like, r u kidding me???!

Did he say what kind of ‘real ‘symptoms to look for? So there were irregularities but he said it’s nothing? That’s strange to me.

He said that what “could” have happened was that when we stay in the same position for a while, the heart plays catch up get the blood flow to where it needs to be. And quite honestly, he just wasn’t even listening to me as I described the sweats that I was having, my left arm numbing, and feeling cold. He just kept on listening to himself. Such a shame I had no personal support and have to be my own advocate. I was there for 5 hours and time spent with was 10 min.

I also, did mention that I am vitamin d deficient and anemic. “Oh that has nothing to do with how ur heart may be acting.” 😳🤯

Sorry your doctor was being rude not listening from the sound of things but it does sound like he was sure you were not in any type of danger.

That was good thing from this experience. Paramedic was the one who told me to go to get checked out bc of the abnormal ekg they performed while here. I would rather be safe than sorry.

Was it an emergency though? Could it have waited until you saw your doctor next Monday? Maybe that's what he meant? x

This doctor sounds like a ***. Sorry you had to deal with that when you’re already scared

Scared I sure was. I don’t know much of my family history with their health. I know both my parents have/ had high blood pressure. Both were diabetic and both had cirrhosis. My dad had circulation issues and varicose veins that gave him the worse pain ever.

I know that anemia affects the heart, I had heart palpitations, dizziness and shortness of breath and turned out I was anemic!

Exactly! My ferritin levels were at a 4 and now 5.2 in like 8 months. Part of it is also my not being consistent since the iron pills were making me sick to my stomach or constipated. I will try my best to get back on them again, along with better eating and exercise. My mind has been in a slump with having to catch up with bills and Mom being in and out of the hospital.

I take a form of iron called carbonyl iron, it is highly absorbed and easy on the stomach. I order off amazon
