I get more hope . . .

. . . from identifying the source of so much of the anxiety and depression, which is becoming increasingly common to ALL working class people, then from avoiding the truth and wondering why things seem to continue getting worse.

There are an awful lot of things I have been aware of for many moons, and have seen affecting society as a whole, myself included. Here are some of those things presented in a way that doesn't lead to anger, hatred or blame, but clearly paves the path for those that would honestly like to see a more peaceful world for not only ourselves, but countless generations to come.

Thank you for posting. You are an obviously an intellectual and deeply compassionate "Old Soul". I don't understand all there is to understand about our world at the moment but I'm definately feeling it's not a good one. There is our own struggle on an individual level and then the issues you raise here. I have a feeling you are more intelligent than myself probably and have a deeper understanding of these sorts of issues. A real pleasure to see a post which isn't just a one liner and has a lot of "depth", if you know what I mean......?

All food for thought, even if I fully grasp it all. Gemmalouise xxx

There's a heck of a lot I don't understand either, and that can feel really overwhelming and frightening some times, to be sure.

Regarding your feeling that our world right now may not be a good one . . . is it possible that it's gotten so bad in the past few decades that we may, as a collective human race be ready to say:

"Okay, enough. I'm willing to learn what I need to, take appropriate actions and make appropriate sacrifices, (like maybe vacationing closer to home, drying more laundry on the clothes line, and walking young kids to school rather than driving the car), and work hard to be a part of a global solution?"

I choose to believe that we will, because I also believe that deep down, the vast majority of people ARE good, and compassionate people.

:) Thank you. The feeling is mutual. I'd welcome you to my kitchen table for a cup of coffee and a slice of cheese cake any ol' time.

(BTW, would you mind stopping to pick up a cheese cake on your way? I know the perfect place! Bring plenty of money too. A 14" cheese cake is about 60 bucks! Hehe)

Didn't have enough data to watch in full old-soul. But, I think I get the drift. In Carl Marx book he says that Capitalism can't ever work, because there is always boom n bust. I do think that's true. N I've long worried about the effect that our throw away society would, have on our Planet. After so many years of cutbacks, there is no wonder that depression/anxiety take its toll on more, n more of us. Our Citys look increasingly shabby, while our Countryside lacks habitat for our Creatures. N as ever the"worker bees" bare the brunt. I have no answers. Except less greed, more care of things, less over use of Planets resources. 😊🌻✌️

I believe the answers lay in less black and white thinking between different forms of government and industry, and many MANY smaller societies that police their own.

That is what existed on the North American continent before European influance became de facto systems of governance. There were over 500 nations in North America before 1492. Sure, there were skirmishes and wars at times, but they weren't interested in killing every member of another tribe, or dropping bombs on Hiroshima or Nagasaki for that matter.

Regardless of what the solution turns out to be, certainly it won't be found unless good folks, such as us, are willing to discuss all the possibilities, AND be willing to listen to ideas and information that maybe we were previously afraid to hear or learn about. If I am wrong about something, That's not a judgement, It's just a fact. The important part is weather we can be ALLOWED to be wrong without being judged or judging ourselves harshly.

If we want to kill anyone that has made a mistake, then how can anyone having made mistakes ever correct it? You can't fix a problem you won't admit to having! lol

So, that's sort of the upshot of what I am driving at here. I believe we are starting to talk, and that the "common classes" such as most of us here, now have access to global communications at more affordable rates than ever in human history. Unless we talk with one another, we don't learn. But if we DO have these conversations, we are sure to find better answers to the problems that affect ALL of humanity.

In other words, I believe we are on the cusp of something better. Why shouldn't I believe? This "being frightened, confused, angry" plan hasn't worked too well, so . . . we either want something better, or there is something SO wrong with us, mental health isn't gonna fix it! lol :)
