How do I talk to my employer about my anxiety and depression? Dealing with this is requiring me to see a doctor about once week and I'm running out of sick time. I need additional time to help my issue and my work will no longer accept it. I'm in California so if someone has any state specific advice I would really appreciate it. Do I have any legal rights?

Does your workplace do FMLA? Or Leave of Absence? You need to talk to your HR Dept about this. Usually they can give you papers for your doctor to sign saying you need time off. My doctor did this for me many times when I worked at Walmart (It's called Leave of Absence there.) Even if it is just for stress, you need to tell your doc that you are really stressed and its making you sick and that work is too much right now-and she should sign the papers and then you return them to your employer. If all this is not an option, I'd consider working elsewhere, like Walmart or, since you are in Cali, a theme park. My husband works for a theme park and he gets a lot of sick time and they also do FMLA. (Family Medical Leave Act)

I really hope this helps! Maybe a get a free attorney consultation?
