I recently reconnected with a guy a dated a year, things have been going good. we are planning on going out tonight, which will be the first time we’ve seen each other since reconnecting. I’m kind of freaking out because I decided I wasted to have “the talk” about my mental health issues with I’m - - specifically my anxiety and depression in the past. Although this last week I’ve been doing better, I have been trying to put myself out There and do more driving and doing things that I’m afraid of to try and break my fear of them. But just because I’ve been doing a little better I know that doesn’t mean my anxiety will just disappear forever since I decided I want to try and date. So I think it’ll be the best to just be completely open with him about everything.

I agree with your decision arym211 in being open and honest about your anxiety. Not telling him and trying to hide it will only cause you additional worry each and every time you are with him. The "what if" will become a huge focus instead of enjoying the moment with your guy. Follow your gut feeling in doing the right thing.
Oh...and enjoy the evening together. You will do just fine. xx
If I may suggest...why not just let happen what will happen...don't worry about all the details of everything right now...try to just test the waters first...and enjoy the first date....keeping it light and give yourself a chance to get to know this person again....maybe if it presents itself then, you could share about your stuff....but sometimes a second or third date may be a better timing. I don't know..just a thought.
I agree with you. Don't tell him in the first 5 minutes, but I think you should tell him sometime during the first date. It will be a huge relief for you.
I agree. Take your time and ease him into the situation. Men can get overwhelmed if we're hit with too much too fast. Just go slow... if he has questions, answer them as best you can if you feel comfortable answering them. You may be pleasantly surprised by what happens
I'm rooting for ya!
