On joy

I listened to a talk today by Tara Brach and she recited a poem that I love but can’t figure out who it is by I thought she said Andre Ghee but cannot find that name. I think this poem is so powerful, possibly depressing in a way when not feeling good, but look deep and it has hope laced into it because joy is possible Aaaaaanyway here is the poem-

Know that joy is rarer more difficult

more beautiful than sadness

Once you make this all important discovery

you must embrace joy as a moral obligation

Hi Starrlight,

I did a little Google sleuthing; turns out, it's a quote from the French author, André Gide, though I can't pinpoint the source of the quote, as I'm unfamiliar with his work.
