Hi all, I pose this question, because it's bugging me. Do any of you have a significant other that cannot stand it when you are sick or not feeling well? I just don't get it. I've been dealing with this for 30+ years now and finally asking why. He doesn't seem to know the answer. He is non-empathetic and says "what's your problem. You never feel good." ugh. I took a nap (but in a guilty kind of way) Any ideas??

sorry your not getting the support you need from your partner. Older guys don't have a lot of sympathy really about certain things, they shrug it off....but if they are sick, the heavens open and all must be done to fix them, ,,,a lot are that way....I know... I have 4 brothers and worked with only men for my 30 years plus working career, So I kinda get where they are coming from sometimes. After 30 years, some barriers seem to go up as well, and taking for granted your partners stuff becomes routine. I'd say your not going to change him any time soon, so you may want to seek friendships from others going through similar health issues that would be more understanding. I'm glad your sharing here about it. People here will listen and empathize.
