Will things get better?

Do things for people with depression and anxiety ever get any better? I’m at the point of just giving up.

Things do get better. Cat. For me, now, there are good days and not so good days. When i was very ill with anxiety, there weren't any good days. Every day was a struggle. I suppose i learned to live with it, simplyfied my life and realised what i could and couldn't cope other. I do Tai chi, a little meditation and find the online hypnosis helpful if i cant Sleep. I still take a small dose of Medication. But everyone is different. I hope you find something that works for you.

I'm sorry your going through the rough part of this stuff, and like Dubba said, it does get better but we have to do the work.

Yes it does get better..have faith and hope..

They can only get better if you seek help -- get counseling help, read about narcissistic abuse and how to defend against it and be happy (lots of videos on Youtube about it), AVOID people that make you feel like crap (this is SO VITALLY IMPORTANT, can even be life-saving!), be around people that lift you up and make you feel good about yourself (they're out there!!!), and do things that you enjoy -- no matter what it is, don't judge yourself for what you enjoy doing. Just do the things that you enjoy doing and MUCH LESS of the things you don't enjoy doing. Make small steps every day and praise yourself for even the smallest actions you take. And so importantly, be LOVING towards yourself -- talk to yourself like you would encourage your best friend....speak lovingly towards yourself and kindly. This helps so much and helps you to build your self esteem. Another self esteem builder is STANDING UP FOR YOURSELF. Speak out, but just say it respectfully and tactfully -- but speak your truth and stand up for yourself. This will build your esteem as well bit by bit.
