Doctor gave me Trazodone to sleep. What time do you take it if you need to be up by 6am?

Set the alarm for 6 a.m. You do not know how long it will take for it to take affect. And you know how many hours you want to sleep. So you may want to shut off the computer, phone and TV a little early tonight and climb into bed. My doctor explained sleep medication is often designed to wear off towards morning, but can't count on that. Hope all works out.

If you have to be up by 6am for work I suggest you try the sleeping med out on weekends/days off first. Everyone's body is different and a lot of sleeping meds can leave you drowsy with a sort of hangover feeling, and you don't want to be driving or working in that situation.

I take 300 mg per night I find with me it takes about an hour to really kick in then at least 6 to 8 hours for the worst of the grogginess to discipate I’d take it about 9pm but that’s me just going on my experience.hope this helps
