Sometimes there seems to be no answers. You do all the right things, you educate yourself, hold a good position helping others and your Mom, and where do you get the help you need. Can tell it's really gotten to you today. You have done all the right things. Need to talk a bit more to let some of your depression and frustration out? We may not have any answers, but maybe someone in this venue does have what you need to hear today. When you give, and give, and give, you need something back to fill the vacuum. Write a little more about how you are feeling. Maybe some of us can help fill the vacuum. Please. You are the type of person we need and hope to be like. You are important and need some support and understanding. Write more, please.

HI Sunsetting,

You do all you can to take care of yourself first. Your mental and physical health matters to you so that you can take care of others.

Being exhausted requires a complete evaluation of health and lifestyle

Diet and poor quality of sleep are often the culprits especially when combined with shift work.

If you have been taking the same medication, it could be time for a review - some medications stop working or "poop out".

My doctor insists on having an annual blood test to rule out illnesses as the cause of lethargy. So far I have no other conditions so it must be symptom of my depression - I am going to work on improving amount of exercise (walking) and diet changes.

Thank you for approaching your help in a way a nurse would connect with.

Hello, everyone else out there. We have a nurse who is totally deflated and exhausted and needs to hear from you. Just remember the times we've been in a hospital or doctor's office and needed her help.

Hi Sunsetter, I sure can understand how nursing could suck you dry. It's a easy profession to get burnt out. All you see and do can contribute to depression, anxiety and fatigue. I hope you do somethings to 'fill your tank' such as a weekly massage, chocolate, permission to be lazy in days off, chocolate...lol. And find some way to meet people and get out. I struggle finding energy for this, but when I do I feel somewhat better. There's an app called Meetup that lists groups in your area based on common interests. Their activities are listed by date. It's not at all like online dating - it's just a way to meet people with common interests having fun. Anyway, you take care of you. Be kind to yourself. You deserve it.

What great suggestions and understanding. Sunsetting, you may have chosen the wrong name. It looks like others really know what you are experiencing and suggestions to help. You are not sunsetting, you have the support to help recharge your batteries.

Thank You I will try Meetup

Thanks for the follow! And I can totally understand where you're coming from. You are a deeply caring person, I can see that from your profession and taking care of you mom. But both can be physically and emotionally draining. I know the health problems and depression began when I was taking care of my Mom, but I didn't see it until have she passed. I'm glad you are recognizing it and seeking help now. I have a wonderful therapist and hypnotist that has changed my life, but I still have bad days. I'm having one today in fact. But know there ARE people out here in this community and everywhere who are willing to help. I would seek out a good therapist and talk to your health care provider to check you physically to find out if there could be something physical causing the tiredness, but I know stress from your life is probably the main factor. Please keep in touch! I'm more than willing to talk when I can. I applaud you for being a nurse and taking care of mom and now you have to put YOU on that list too! Good luck sweetie! Let me know how you're doing? Hugs!
